Why Pray? - John 3:27
When Trouble Knocks at your Door
- Prayer is the gracious opportunity to speak directly to God
- We direct our communication to God the Father
- God the Son, Jesus is our connector, priest, mediator
- The Spirit helps us pray as inferior humans
- We feel good when we pray
- We feel guilty when we are negligent
- Prayer does not happen naturally
- Prayer is a learned response and discipline
Why pray?
- Three things prompt us to pray:
- we share our needs
- we request our desires
- we express our love and worship
- For many of us, the most intense times of prayer that we have experienced have come because of trouble
